DOROTHY
56 years old
Homeless for over 7 years
Dorothy lived for many years along the 210 Freeway in Pasadena. After her parents divorced when she was 12, Dorothy started down a path that eventually led to 40 years of addiction, rotten teeth and poor health, and a life on the streets of LA. On the streets, Dorothy said she felt like she was being "unseen" by the people around her. Eventually, Dorothy was seen by Home For Good partner Housing Works, who helped Dorothy find permanent supportive housing. With their support, Dorothy was able to kick her addiction, improve her health, gain employment and even get a new set of teeth.
Dorothy was housed in Fall 2013.
